Nafisa’s Journey: 12-year-old Girl Defied The Odds Stacked Against Her

From collecting firewood to igniting the flames of education, Nafisa’s journey is nothing short of inspiring.

Hailing from the hilly village of Methola in Qilla Saifullah, Balochistan, this 12-year-old girl defied the odds stacked against her. With five brothers working as laborers and a father tending to the family’s farming work, education seemed like a distant dream in this village.

But a year ago, hope dawned upon Methola when TAKMIL opened the Fakhri & Mubarak Memorial School. For Nafisa and her peers, it was a watershed moment—an opportunity to embark on a path of learning and enlightenment. With newfound books in hand, Nafisa eagerly delved into the world of English, science, and beyond. Her thirst for knowledge knows no bounds, fueled by a passion for science that knows no limits.

Today, Nafisa stands tall as a beacon of resilience and determination. Having completed the 5th grade and now studying in the 6th, she has set her sights on a lofty goal: to become the first doctor in the history of her village.

She is also learning handicraft in her spare time. With each stitch of handicraft work and every page turned in her textbooks, Nafisa is paving the way for a brighter future, one where she can alleviate the hardships of her village and inspire generations to come.

Join us in supporting Nafisa and countless other children like her on their journey to education and empowerment.
